Here at GXO, we are currently looking for a Control Room Operation to join us at our ASOS site in Barnsley on a full time, permanent basis. You'll play a vital role in monitoring and supporting the operational activity of our automated systems, including DEMATIC conveyors, DURKOPP sorters, and CRISSPLANT despatch sorters. You'll be the first line of defence in diagnosing faults, escalating issues, and ensuring smooth system performance across the site.
Responsibilities
* Monitoring all operational activity of the conveyors, elevators, sorters and CCTV equipment
* Maintain close communication with Engineering, Control Room colleagues, and management
* Attend meetings and collaborate with UAT, CI, and project teams
* Support redeployment of flow controllers and manage their breaks
* Input and retrieve operational data and reports
* Maintain 5S principles and contribute to continuous improvement
* Ensure you are aware of any changes to operational processes and training requirements
* Support continuous improvement initiatives
* Be prepared to work shift patterns, including occasional overtime
Qualifications and Skills
* Confident user of computer systems, Microsoft packages and especially Excel
* Natural problem-solving skills and a high level of attention to detail
* The ability to multi-task, monitor multiple screens and systems at one time and flag issues
* Some flexibility around shift patterns and working hours may be needed on occasion
* Previous experience within an automation environment is a bonus
* Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, automated environment and stay calm under pressure

This is a full-time, permanent position. You’ll be working Sunday to Thursday, covering the hours of 14:45 till 23:15.
