£12.91 per hour £500 welcome bonus 27 hours per week Click here to view the job profile and person specification We have an exciting opportunity available at our supported living service in the Kingswood area of South Gloucestershire, which is home to four individuals aged 61-91 with learning disabilities. You will play a key role in supporting these individuals to live their best lives. Whilst independence is important, everyone needs your support with all aspects of their lives, from personal care, menu planning and cooking, household chores and shopping, achieving their goals, and supporting them to access the local and wider community as well with in-house activities. Medication competency and support to recognise health issues and to attend health appointments is vital, as each person has current health needs that need to be observed and reacted to. We need you to be IT literate to use digital care plans and medication systems and attention to detail is vital. Supporting everyone to communicate their needs means being observant of body language and behaviours as they may not be able to directly tell you what's going on. You will need to be confident in reporting any safeguarding concerns. As their mobility has declined, to be a driver would be an advantage. Essential requirements for the role: Flexibility - we have a variety of shift patterns to include weekends IT skills - you will use a variety of systems to record the support you provide and update care plans and medication records etc. Communication - able to communicate clearly with the people you will support, their families, and your service team. We have a variety of shifts, worked between 07:00 and 23:00 and including a sleep-in. You will be based both in the home and offering 1:1 support in the community.
