NHS Highland Public Dental Service currently has an exciting opportunity for a part-time Dental Officer to provide services at Abban Street dental clinic. The Public Dental Service provides care to patient groups who cannot access NHS dentistry via General Dental Practitioners. The post holder will be expected to provide the full range of General Dental Services to these groups, including anxious patients; therefore, experience in delivering inhalation sedation is desirable. The working week will also include participation in the emergency dental service at Inverness Dental Centre.
Clinical experience of providing treatment to priority group patients is desirable, and experience of providing routine general dental services is essential. GDC registration as a dentist, evidence of participation in postgraduate dental education, and successful listing with the Health Board are essential. The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to handle difficult situations and challenging patient behaviors positively, will be essential.
A driving licence is desirable.
