An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the dynamic team on the new Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC), located within the Emergency Village. This is a purpose-built area set up to prevent unnecessary admissions and relieve the pressures of our busy Emergency Department. We are looking for an enthusiastic and positive role model to help provide a high standard of care on our busy SDEC unit.
You will be responsible for seeing and treating medical, surgical, gynaecology, urology, ophthalmology and ENT same‑day patients. Our aim will be to diagnose, treat and discharge our patients’ homes on the same day with appropriate follow‑ups as required.
As a clinical Assistant, you will assist in the triage process where you will complete basic observations, risk assessments, full body maps, obtain samples, cannulate, perform blood sampling, transfer patients and record 12‑Lead ECGs. You will provide care and support for patients who are attending the unit and be prepared to work flexibly to the needs of the service.
