A well-established packaging manufacturing site is looking to strengthen its engineering team with the addition of a Multi-Skilled Engineering Technician at its highly automated production facility
This is an excellent opportunity to join a large-scale manufacturing operation where engineering reliability and fast response times are critical to maintaining production performance and customer service levels.
The successful candidate will be a strong electrically biased engineer with experience working within fast-paced FMCG, packaging, manufacturing, or process environments.
The Role Working as part of a busy engineering function, you will be responsible for maintaining, fault finding, repairing, and improving a range of automated production and packaging machinery across the site.
Youll play a key role in reducing downtime, improving machine performance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the operation.
Key Responsibilities Attending machinery breakdowns and carrying out effective fault finding
Completing planned preventative maintenance activities
Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults on automated equipment
Supporting continuous improvement and engineering projects
Assisting with machinery upgrades, installations, and commissioning
Working closely with production teams to maximise equipment reliability
Ensuring all engineering activities are completed safely and efficiently
Maintaining maintenance records and engineering documentation
What Were Looking For We are keen to speak with engineers who have strong electrical maintenance experience gained within a fast-moving manufacturing or FMCG environment.
Ideal Background Time-served Multi-Skilled Engineer / Maintenance Engineer / Shift Engineer
Strong electrical fault-finding skills
Previous experience within FMCG, packaging, manufacturing, or process industries
Apprentice trained, NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent engineering qualification
Experience working xsngvjr with automated production or packaging machinery
Ability to fault find on PLC-controlled equipment
Siemens S7 PLC experience would be highly advantageous
Knowledge of drives, sensors, relays, motors, pumps, valves, conveyors, and control systems
Comfortable working within a fast-paced production environment
Good communication and problem-solving abilities
