SEN Teaching Assistant – Autism Resource Provision (ARP)

A welcoming and inclusive primary setting in Watford is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their specialist Autism Resource Provision (ARP). This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact supporting children with significant and complex SEND needs.
In this specialist provision, you’ll work closely with a small group of pupils who may be non-verbal, have autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, or global developmental delays. The environment mirrors the nurturing, individualised support often found in severe learning difficulty settings, offering you the chance to be part of a team providing life-changing support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Providing personalised and consistent support for children with complex SEND.
• Supporting pupils who may display dysregulation or challenging behaviours.
• Creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued.
• Working collaboratively with a committed team of staff within the ARP.
• Understanding and responding to each child’s unique social, emotional, and developmental needs.
Ideal Candidate:
• Extensive experience supporting children with significant SEND.
• Confident working with autism, ADHD, SEMH, and non-verbal pupils.
• Flexible, resilient, empathetic, and calm under pressure.
• Team-focused with a strong commitment to inclusive education.
• Able to commit to a long-term role.
