Summary

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a mainstream primary school in Nelson. This role involves working within a KS1 nurture group, providing support to children with special educational needs. The position is to start as soon as possible, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact in the early stages of children's education.>
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide tailored support to children within the KS1 nurture group, focusing on their individual learning needs and emotional development.
* Work closely with the classroom teacher to implement educational plans and activities that promote inclusion.
* Assist in creating a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment for all students.
* Monitor and support the progress of children, adapting approaches as needed to suit individual needs.
* Facilitate small group activities and one-on-one support sessions to enhance learning outcomes.
* Engage with parents and guardians to provide updates on their child's progress and discuss strategies to support learning at home.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with SEN children.
* Understanding of the needs and educational strategies for KS1 students.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
