What you’ll do
Our Real Estate team is seeking to recruit a Real Estate Professional Support Lawyer, ideally on a part-time (3/4 days per week) and permanent basis. Due to the nature of this role, there is the opportunity to be based primarily from home, however, with the expectation of attending the office on occasion in either Exeter or Bristol.
Ashfords Real Estate team is known for providing legal advice and support on large scale property developments, urban regeneration, self-invested pension schemes and real estate investments. We work with a range of clients including private individuals, house builders, commercial developers, offshore investors, planners, housing associations and local authorities.
In this non-fee earning role, you will be the senior PSL in an established and well-respected team supporting the Real Estate department, working as part of a wider Knowledge Management team across Ashfords.
Highly motivated and proactive, you will keep yourself up to date with the latest relevant legal developments and market practice, analysing new law and informing fee earners in the most appropriate and accessible ways. You will be responsible for ensuring that fee earners have the information and resources they need to deliver technically excellent legal advice to our clients by promptly raising awareness of new developments, providing regular updates and training, and producing and maintaining guidance notes, precedents and templates.
Who you are
As a qualified Real Estate lawyer with experience in a Professional Support / Knowledge Lawyer role, you will be commercially aware and have the ability to understand and relate to internal and external clients' needs, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering excellent client care. With good project management skills, you will have shown your ability to cope with pressures arising from handling multiple tasks and conflicting deadlines. Highly organised and with an eye for detail, you will be able to develop and implement effective systems to organise your work and meet users' needs, whilst having a flexible and adaptable attitude to your work.
Working as part of the Knowledge Management team and alongside colleagues across the Real Estate team, you will be known for being a positive, proactive and motivated people manager and team player, keen to contribute and work collaboratively across all levels of the firm. With strong written and verbal communication and influencing skills, you are experienced in forging effective working relationships with partners, colleagues and clients, and quickly gain an understanding of their needs and perspectives. As a PSL, you will be a vital resource for the team, and enjoy a varied and interesting workload.
