HR Programme Manager

Location: Wantage, Oxfordshire

Salary to £70K + benefits DOE


About the Role

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for driving impactful change across HR functions? We’re looking for an experienced HR Programme Manager to lead our HR Programme Management Office (PMO), ensuring the successful delivery of strategic initiatives aligned with our People Strategy.

In this pivotal role, you’ll partner with senior HR leaders to translate vision into action, overseeing a portfolio of high-impact projects that shape the future of our organisation. You’ll bring structure, governance, and delivery excellence to everything you touch—ensuring consistency, quality, and measurable outcomes across the board.

What You’ll Be Doing

* Champion the execution of our People Strategy by translating it into actionable programmes and delivery plans.
* Collaborate with HR leaders and cross-functional teams to define project goals and drive execution.
* Establish and maintain robust programme governance, reporting frameworks, and decision-tracking mechanisms.
* Develop and manage project roadmaps, timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
* Act as the central point of integration across HR projects, managing dependencies and critical paths.
* Monitor programme health, facilitate weekly reviews, and adjust priorities to meet evolving business needs.
* Provide executive-level reporting and insights to the CHRO and senior stakeholders.
* Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful delivery.
* Build and embed a project management toolkit and best practices across the HR function.
* Coach and upskill HR colleagues in project management methodologies and tools.

What We’re Looking For

* A proven track record in leading complex HR transformation or change programmes.
* Expertise in project management tools, methodologies, and consulting techniques.
* Strong business acumen and the ability to quickly grasp HR priorities and challenges.
* Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to inform decisions and measure impact.
* Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
* Deep understanding of HR processes and strategic initiatives.
* Influential communicator with strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
* Proficiency in programme/project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, PRINCE2, PMI).
