Overview

Your new role:

We have several opportunities for a Caretaker to join our team in Carlton Keighley, Green Head Road, Utley, Keighley, West Yorkshire, BD20 6EB. This role is on-site.

Salary £13.08 per hour.

The standard hours of work are 37.5 hours per week. Shifts on a rota: Week 1: 6:00am – 2:00pm; Week 2: 8:00am – 4:00pm; Week 3: 2:00pm – 10:00pm. 1 in 3 weekends may be required. The rota can be discussed at interview stage.

We work in partnership with our clients and end-users to ensure our 24/7 services are delivered to the highest standard with minimum disruption to day-to-day operational requirements of the schools.


What you will do

* Ensure smooth running of the school premises
* Carry out day-to-day DIY/maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., furniture fixtures, wall repairs)
* Ensure heating, lighting and alarm systems are working properly
* Daily responsible for checking that all doors and windows are locked when the building is not in use
* Check the premises to guard against vandalism
* Arrange chairs and tables for meetings or assemblies and clear away afterwards
* Litter picking and general clearing of external areas

* Knowledge and experience in practical DIY skills for minor repairs
* Good team player
* Flexible with shift work
* Good at developing strong working relationships with on-site clients and employees
* Support for local and business zero-carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner where appropriate
* Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract
* Diversity-friendly approach; if you have most but not all skills, we may offer development or training
