Are you ready to lead environmental strategy across high-impact civil engineering works?
We’re looking for a proactive and solutions-focused Environmental Manager to ensure our projects meet and exceed sustainability and compliance standards.
Our client is a successful civil engineering contractor with a long history of delivering complex projects including marine, renewables, power, and transmission. Your work will help shape a greener, safer built environment — from early planning through to project completion.
What You’ll Be Doing
As the Environmental Manager, you’ll be a key player in both pre-construction planning and live site support. Your main responsibilities will include:
1. Leading environmental compliance across multiple sites in line with UK legislation, planning consents, and best practice.
2. Developing and implementing Environmental Management Plans (EMP/CEMP).
3. Advising design, construction, and SHEQ teams on ecology, pollution control, waste, noise, and carbon reduction.
4. Engaging with local authorities, clients, subcontractors, and regulators (EA, NRW, SEPA, etc.).
5. Conducting audits and site inspections—identifying risks and ensuring corrective actions.
6. Producing clear reports and KPIs to support governance and continuous improvement.
7. Driving delivery of sustainability goals, including Net Zero, biodiversity net gain, and circular economy initiatives.
