Data Engineer (Grafana Specialist) | Energy Trading | £700/Day Inside IR35 | 6 Months Rolling | Hybrid (2–3 Days) | London
A leading Energy Trading firm is seeking a Data Engineer with strong Grafana experience to join their Data Insights function. This role focuses on building and maintaining data pipelines across distributed systems, ensuring high‑quality, reliable data is delivered to Front Office users through Grafana‑driven observability and analytics dashboards.
As a Data Engineer (Grafana Specialist), you will design, develop, and optimise data flows that collect metrics such as API response times, latency, data quality checks, and system performance signals. You will then surface these insights through Grafana dashboards to provide traders and Front Office stakeholders with real‑time confidence in the data they rely on for decision‑making.
You will play a key role in building a robust data analytics and observability platform, ensuring critical trading workflows are supported by accurate and timely data.
🚂 Hybrid: 2–3 days per week in the London office
Key Responsibilities
* Build and maintain data pipelines pulling metrics from distributed systems
* Integrate data validation, transformation, and performance checks into engineering workflows
* Develop, configure, and maintain Grafana dashboards for real‑time data quality and observability
* Collaborate with Data Insights, Developers, and Front Office teams to ensure data accuracy and reliability
* Support the rollout of a new business‑wide analytics function within the organisation
Must‑Have Experience
‼️ Extensive hands‑on experience with Grafana is mandatory — building dashboards, writing queries, alerting, data sources, and performance tuning.
‼️ Strong SQL & Python for scripting, data manipulation, and pipeline engineering.
Nice to Have
* Prior experience in Energy Trading or Commodities environments
* Exposure to distributed systems, streaming data, or observability tooling
