As a Prison Recovery Coordinator at HMP Buckley Hall, you will support individuals from the moment they enter the prison through their recovery, ensuring they have access to the right interventions at the right time. You will carry out assessments, develop personalised recovery plans, provide onward referrals, and deliver tailored group sessions on topics such as anger management, sleep, and relationships. Alongside reducing drug and alcohol-related harm, you will promote resilience, peer support, and self-determination, while advocating for access to partnership services and encouraging social reintegration. Your work will create a safe, supportive environment that empowers people to make lasting positive changes in their lives.

Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week

Full Time Salary* Range: £27,861.26 - £32,002.35

*Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Prison Recovery Coordinator to join our dedicated team at HMP Buckley Hall. You will work directly with people in prison to help them access the right interventions at the right time, in ways that meet their needs and promote positive change.

This is a varied role where you will:

4. Support individuals from the point they enter the service and throughout their recovery journey

5. Provide screening, assessment, recovery planning, and onward referrals

6. Reduce drug and alcohol-related harm to both individuals and the wider community

7. Promote carer, service user, and community involvement

8. Advocate for access to partnership services and promote social (re)integration

9. Facilitate and co-deliver structured group sessions tailored to the needs of participants, covering areas such as anger management, sleep, and relationships

10. Contribute to a safe and supportive environment that encourages recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination

About You

We’re looking for someone who can bring a balance of compassion, professionalism, and resilience. You will have:

11. A strong understanding of substance misuse issues and relevant experience in a similar field

12. Experience working with groups, including managing challenging behaviours in a constructive way

13. Excellent verbal, written, and IT skills

14. The ability to work proactively and manage your own workload effectively

15. A good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice

16. Strong interpersonal skills to build partnerships with professionals, agencies, and stakeholders

17. The ability to manage change in a way that keeps service users at the heart of decisions

18. A commitment to confidentiality, safeguarding, and continuous learning

19. Please note that this post requires an Enhanced DBS check and Prison Vetting clearance as part of our safer recruitment process.
