About the role:
The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for negotiating, implementing, and managing supplier agreements to strengthen the JFD supply chain. The role involves developing procurement strategies, negotiating contracts, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to support organizational goals.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Develop and implement procurement strategies for efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.
2. Manage supplier relationships, evaluate and select suppliers, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance.
3. Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and relevant regulations and standards.
4. Monitor and evaluate procurement activities, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
5. Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth procurement operations.
6. Assist in developing and implementing procurement policies and procedures.
7. Conduct regular audits of procurement processes and procedures for continuous improvement.
What do you need?
A solid understanding of procurement processes and tasks is essential, with strong experience in contract and commercial negotiation. Candidates should be skilled in analysis and presentation, with excellent attention to detail. Problem-solving skills, responsibility, organization, and methodical approach are required. Proven ability to build relationships with key suppliers and communicate effectively is essential. A CIPS qualification is desirable but not necessary.
Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations is crucial for compliance and safety. Understanding the tools and materials used in procurement helps in performing tasks efficiently. Experience in a related position is preferred to understand the responsibilities and challenges involved. Effective communication within the procurement team and other departments, along with troubleshooting skills, are important. Flexibility to work autonomously and collaboratively is required.
