Duration: 6 MonthsJob Summary: We are looking for an experienced Foundation Brakes Engineer. You will work with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver Foundation Brakes systems, ensuring alignment with cost, quality, and timing objectives. Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the primary interface between the Brakes System (Foundation Brakes) Vehicle Programme team and Manufacturing programme teams.
* Coordinate activities of key stakeholders (Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, Manufacturing, STA) to support programme objectives.
* Ensure reliable delivery of Foundation Brakes targets.
* Support Programme Management Team meetings and deliver accurate programme metrics.
* Integrate cross-functional requirements into the commodity delivery plan (CCDS).
* Manage the resolution of obstacles in collaboration with the Scrum Master.
* Plan prototype builds with proto build facilities for customer test properties.
Skills, Experience, and Abilities Required:
* Essential:
o Proven experience in Automotive brakes design & development for OEM or Tier 2 supplier.
o Understanding of vehicle brakes systems, mechanical systems, and components.
o Proficient 3D CAD user (Catia V6, 3DX).
o Experience creating and interpreting detailed 2D manufacturing drawings.
o Good knowledge of manufacturing techniques and design optimisation.
o Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and solve problems.
o Experience with project management/agile methodologies.
o Experience leading resolution of business, technical, and process issues.
o Knowledge of product creation & delivery, change control, and change management processes.
o Ability to use structured problem-solving tools and techniques.
o Experience with component verification methods at component, system, and vehicle levels.
o Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
o Strong communication and collaboration skills.
o Experience managing and influencing key stakeholders.
* Desirable:
o Bachelor's degree in mechanical or automotive engineering.
o Working knowledge of JIRA.
o Self-motivated and effective team player.
o Experience supporting Lead Engineers and manufacturing/launch issues.
o Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
