FP&A Analyst – PE-backed SaaS Scale-Up | South Manchester (On-site)
Forge Talent is recruiting an FP&A Analyst for a fast-growing software business. This role will be instrumental in building out the finance function, supporting strategic decision-making through robust financial planning, modelling, and performance analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Budgeting:
* Lead the development of cost forecasts across departments, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
* Own the budgeting cycle, partnering with department heads to validate assumptions and resource needs.
* Maintain and evolve driver-based financial models to support scenario planning and long-term growth.
* Performance Analysis & Reporting Monitor actuals vs. budget, highlight key variances, and recommend corrective actions.
* Deliver monthly reporting packs with insights on cost efficiency, profitability, and operational performance.
* Support senior leadership with tailored analysis to inform investment decisions and margin improvement.
Business Partnering:
* Act as a trusted advisor to non-finance teams, translating financial data into actionable insights Collaborate with hiring managers and operational leads to plan headcount and resource allocation Influence strategic decisions by providing clarity on cost implications and ROI
Systems & Process Improvement
* Work with finance operations to ensure data accuracy across ERP and HR systems Identify opportunities to automate reporting and streamline planning workflows
* Champion the adoption of modern FP&A tools and data-driven solutions to enhance scalability and insight generation
Requirements
* 3–5 years' experience in FP&A or commercial finance, ideally in SaaS or tech
* Strong financial modelling and analysis skills
* Qualified or part-qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA)
* Comfortable working with data; SQL knowledge a plus
* Skilled at simplifying financial concepts for non-finance stakeholders
* Commercially minded, proactive, and detail-oriented
Desirable
* Experience in high-growth or scale-up environments
* Familiarity with SaaS metrics and FP&A tools
* Interest in automation, data analytics, and modern finance tech
