GSL Education are currently recruiting a passionate Trauma Informed Practitioner to work in schools across Walsall.
As a Trauma Informed Practitioner, you will work closely with pupils who have experienced adversity or trauma, helping them feel safe, supported, and engaged in education.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide targeted emotional and behavioural support to pupils.
* Implement trauma‑informed strategies and interventions.
* Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive coping skills.
* Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams.
* Contribute to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing practices.
Requirements of Trauma Informed Practitioner
* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, trauma, or behavioural needs.
* Strong understanding of trauma‑informed practice and de‑escalation techniques.
* Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
* Patient, resilient, and empathetic approach.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
