The position involves building strong client relationships, understanding unique project requirements, and delivering tailored solutions for projects that demand specialist expertise and execution. Working closely with internal teams, you will ensure successful project delivery while contributing to the department’s strategic direction and market presence.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify and develop new business opportunities.
* Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships to drive repeat business.
* Lead the preparation of tailored proposals, bids, and presentations for high-value projects.
* Conduct market research to monitor industry trends and competitor activity.
* Collaborate with internal teams to align proposals and delivery with client needs and company objectives.
* Contribute to strategic planning for departmental growth and market expansion.
* Represent the company at industry events to expand networks and promote services.
* Support project teams to ensure a seamless handover from business development to project execution.
* Track, monitor, and report on sales performance and business development progress.
* Provide innovative, tailored solutions to meet special project requirements.
Skills & Qualifications
* Proven track record in business development within the construction industry.
* Strong knowledge of complex, high-value construction projects.
* Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to create compelling, tailored proposals and presentations.
* Strong analytical and market research abilities.
* Demonstrated success in cross-team collaboration to deliver projects.
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
* Degree in Construction, Business, Engineering, or related discipline (preferred).
* Established network of contacts within the construction sector (advantageous).
