Physiotherapist – Adult Therapy Services
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist to join our Adult Therapy Services Department at UHBW permanently, rotating across both Bristol & Weston sites.
The rotations are currently 6 months in duration and we offer a wide range of experiences including Musculoskeletal Disorders, Trauma, Orthopaedics, General Medicine & Medical Respiratory, Older Peoples Rehab, Cardiac, Surgery/ITU and Stroke. We also offer an acute stroke rotation that is based at North Bristol Trust (Southmead Hospital).
As part of an integrated therapy service you will report to a Band 7 Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist team lead in your clinical area. You will be able to access senior PT professional support and training and development opportunities. Work plans may involve 7‑day or 6‑day levels, contribution to 1:4 Saturday & or Sunday coverage, bank holiday working and on‑call respiratory rota.
Responsibilities
* Act as an autonomous practitioner, providing physiotherapy assessment and treatment and managing your own patient caseload within a specialty team, with support and mentoring from senior physiotherapists.
* Rotate to different clinical areas across the Trust, with each rotation having clear learning objectives to consolidate and build on graduate skills and academic knowledge.
* Plan and prioritise your own workload, delegating tasks as appropriate and communicating progress with the multidisciplinary team.
* Supervise and train Technical Instructors and students as required.
* Work shifts that include weekends, participate in the bank holiday rota and contribute to a 24/7 respiratory on‑call rota.
* Travel to sites across Bristol and Weston during the day and on overnight on‑calls.
Qualifications & Requirements
* HCPC registration is required.
* Permanent employment with UHBW, with rotations across Bristol & Weston sites.
* Ability to travel to sites across Bristol and Weston both during the day and overnight on‑calls.
