If a classroom isn’t ready, a door won’t close, or something just isn’t quite right… you’re the person who sorts it.
Not because you’re told to. Because you notice. That’s exactly what this role needs.
This independent senior school for pupils aged 11 to 18 is now approaching the end of its first year. Set on a beautifully refurbished campus in South West London, it has already established a strong foundation, with clear ambition for what comes next.
With that growth comes the need for someone who takes pride in keeping things running properly.
As an Estates Operative, you’ll play a hands-on role in making sure the site is safe, ready and running smoothly every day. From preparing classrooms and event spaces to handling minor repairs and supporting compliance checks, you’ll be part of the team that keeps everything moving behind the scenes.
This isn’t just about fixing things when they break. It’s about spotting issues early, taking ownership, and making sure the environment is always ready for pupils, staff and visitors.
You’ll be joining a supportive, close-knit Estates team on a multi-acre site where no two days are the same. You’ll work closely with the Estates Supervisor and wider team, responding to requests, solving problems and supporting the wider school community with calm, practical professionalism.
The school is well-resourced, professionally run and values the people who keep it operating day to day, not just those in the classroom.
In return, this is a stable, long-term role in a growing school environment, with a benefit package that includes 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, a 5% employer pension, access to a cycle-to-work scheme, and free lunches and refreshments during term time.
You’ll likely have experience in a school or similar environment and understand how these settings operate. You’ll be comfortable with basic repairs, setups, compliance checks and general troubleshooting.
You don’t need to be a specialist in everything, but you should be practical, dependable and willing to get stuck in. Someone who takes pride in doing things properly and doesn’t wait to be asked.
This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work and wants to be part of a team building something that is still evolving.
