We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a caring and inclusive SEN primary school. This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 8:30-3:30.
In this role, you will provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, and learning disabilities. Some pupils may also require assistance with personal care, and you should be comfortable providing this support where needed.
Key Responsibilities
* Support teaching staff in delivering engaging and accessible lessons.
* Provide tailored 1:1 and small group interventions to help pupils progress academically and emotionally.
* Foster positive relationships to encourage pupils’ independence and confidence.
* Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
* Monitor and record pupil progress, providing regular feedback to teaching staff.
* Promote inclusion and create a calm, supportive learning environment.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
* A Psychology Graduate or has a degree in a related field (applications without a degree may be considered with relevant experience).
* Passionate about supporting young children and making a positive impact in their education.
* Patient, empathetic, and able to build strong, trusting relationships.
* A confident communicator and effective team player.
* Organised, reliable, and proactive in supporting learning and wellbeing.
Relevant experience may include:
* Support or care work
* Personal assistant roles
* Residential or community-based work
* Work with children or young people in educational or care settings
