Overview

Senior Therapy Assistant: REACT (Band 3) – 18.75 hours. We are currently looking for a Band 3 Therapy Assistant to join our friendly emergency care therapy team.

The Rapid Emergency Assessment Care Team (REACT) comprises Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants. The team aims to avoid hospital admission by providing comprehensive therapy assessments within the Accident and Emergency Department. Timely discharge assessments are provided for patients on the medical assessment and short stay wards. For patients whose discharge cannot be avoided, assessment and detailed intervention plans ensure that their journey through the hospital is assisted.

The service enables interdisciplinary collaboration within the team and with medical, nursing and social care colleagues across frailty, emergency care, and community services. There are opportunities to contribute to service development as a member of a dynamic and enthusiastic team.

Fundamental to the service delivery model is a 7-day service, rolled out over a fixed, four-week repeating rota. The successful candidate will be required to work one weekend, every 4 weeks.

* To gain appropriate support from senior colleagues and participate in supervision/peer review to enhance clinical practice.
* To fulfil all mandatory training requirements of the Trust.
* To promote the safety, wellbeing and interests of patients, staff and visitors to the department.
* Ensure compliance with Trust policies, procedures and guidelines for self and others, by taking action or alerting the senior management team if practice appears to contravene policy, or if concerned about any aspect of patient care.
