Position: Assistant Site Manager (School Caretaker)
Contract: Permanent • Type: Full time • Hours: 37.5 hours per week • Pay: £13.78 per hour • Location: Sandwell Schools, Oldbury Academy, Pound Road, Oldbury, West Midlands, England, B68 8NE
Role Responsibilities
* Undertake all required training and follow Mitie’s Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies.
* Maintain equipment in clean, safe working order and understand all cleaning materials and chemicals used.
* Ensure proper maintenance, cleaning, security, and safety of school premises and grounds.
* Respond to helpdesk jobs, unlock/lock buildings, and carry out porterage and room setups.
* Perform PPM tasks including fire alarm tests, emergency light checks, and support out-of-hours building use.

* Previous caretaking experience (preferred but not essential).
* Reliable, hardworking, and professional attitude.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Open, honest, self‑driven, and determined.
* Commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality, with willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
