Receptionist/Admin role at Hurley Group for Allerton Road Medical Centre in London.
Work pattern 8 hours a day, 35 hours per week. Permanent, part‑time contract.
Responsibilities
 * Open and close premises punctually.
 * Check‑in patients, direct them appropriately, and handle enquiries courteously and efficiently.
 * Take accurate messages and pass them to relevant staff.
 * Maintain and update the appointment book; operate the scheduled appointment system.
 * Arrange repeat prescriptions, collect and store specimens, and prepare specimen reports.
 * Deal with telephone queries and provide cover for reception and admin staff as required.
 * Maintain office supplies, manage non‑routine appointments, and handle mail distribution.
 * Support clinical team by preparing referral letters, recording data, and liaising with external agencies.
 * Contribute to audits, projects, and general administrative duties to support smooth practice running.
Qualifications & Experience
 * GCSE or NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent). Computer literate – MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
 * Excellent interpersonal skills, organisational ability, and customer‑service orientation.
 * Experience in reception/admin role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
 * Capability to work independently and as part of a team; initiative and attention to detail.
 * Basic budgeting/stock management awareness.
 * Knowledge of health and safety, confidentiality, and safeguarding policies (basic understanding required).
