Group Reporting Accountant
Salary: £55-65k
A multi-entity group is looking to appoint a technically strong Group Reporting Accountant to support consolidated reporting, statutory compliance and control across the business.
This is a hands-on group role focused on reporting quality, balance sheet integrity and technical accounting. It will suit a qualified accountant who enjoys structure, detail and working at group level.
The Role
You will sit within central finance, supporting month-end, statutory reporting and group compliance.
Key responsibilities:
Produce monthly management accounts at group level within agreed deadlines.
Prepare and post month-end journals and central adjustments.
Prepare and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, flagging risk early.
Maintain and review the fixed asset register, ensuring correct capitalisation in line with accounting standards.
Prepare statutory accounts using disclosure checklists and pro-forma templates.
Support corporation tax computations across the group.
Assist with pre- and post-acquisition balance sheet preparation.
Support purchase price allocation work and review goodwill and intangible assumptions.
Liaise with group stakeholders to ensure technical accuracy and timely sign-off.
Support interim and year-end audit processes, responding to audit queries.
Prepare structured month-end reporting packs for department heads.
Review and improve reporting procedures and internal controls.
Ensure key processes are documented and consistently applied.
Skills
Fully qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
Strong technical accounting knowledge (UK GAAP and/or IFRS).
Experience in group reporting, statutory accounts or audit.
Confident preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations.
Organised, detail-focused and comfortable working to deadlines.
Able to work independently and use judgement when resolving issues.
