International Field Service Engineer – Food Processing (Mechanical Bias)
Location: UK-based with extensive worldwide travel
Salary: £40,000 base | £65,000+ OTE (including overtime, bonuses, and allowances)

The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity to join a leading engineering company specialising in food processing and high-speed production equipment. This position offers the chance to travel worldwide, working hands‑on with advanced process machinery across a variety of customer sites.
You will be involved in installation, commissioning, training, maintenance, and service of sophisticated food processing equipment — combining strong mechanical skills with basic electrical knowledge and excellent customer interaction. When not travelling, around 30% of your time will be spent in the UK preparing, testing, and planning equipment installations.
Key Responsibilities
* Install, commission, maintain, and service high‑speed food processing and packaging machinery across UK and global sites.
* Conduct on‑site training for customer personnel on the operation and maintenance of equipment.
* Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
* Support production testing, planning, and setup during UK‑based periods.
* Provide exceptional technical support and customer service.
* Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
* Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and quality standards on site.
* Represent the company professionally when liaising with customers and suppliers.
Skills & Experience Required
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a relevant industry (food, packaging, printing, paper, or similar process environment).
* Strong mechanical engineering background, ideally with welding, fabrication, or fitting experience.
* Basic electrical knowledge and ability to fault‑find across control systems.
* Proven experience working with capital equipment or high‑speed automated machinery.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Able to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to changing environments.
* Flexible and willing to undertake extensive worldwide travel.
* Commercial awareness with strong influencing ability and customer focus.
