We have a unique and exciting opportunity within Leonardo to work on many different projects within the Integrated Sensing and Protection (ISP) Business Area. This role will help develop your Project Controls and Project Management expertise and knowledge.
This position is part of the Project Management Job Family Framework and is essential within ISP to support Project Managers in controlling projects and schedules.
Mission:
As a Project Controller, you are responsible for the quality and integrity of a group of (product / project) schedules and schedule analysis concerning time, cost, and resources.
What you will do as a Project Controller:
* Deliver Project Controls on Projects using consistent processes, methods, governance, and guidance to the wider Integrated Project Team (IPT) in line with Leonardo processes.
* Own the Project Schedules, driving and promoting schedule quality and management best practices, including schedule risk analysis at all project stages.
* Apply resource scheduling techniques to optimize schedules, identify, and resolve conflicts.
* Support the establishment and management of activities during the bid phase, ensuring best practices, risk management, and smooth transition to execution.
* Conduct 'what if' analyses to inform decision-making and risk mitigation.
* Use Schedule Risk Analysis techniques, including identification, analysis methods, and recommendations for the project team on management and mitigation strategies.
* Apply Project Controls metrics such as Earned Value, and report outcomes to IPT / Project Controls Manager, including recommendations for issues.
* Contribute to IPT and Business area project and schedule reviews by providing Project Controls inputs.
* Build and maintain good relationships across functions to influence project activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Self-motivated with problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve difficult issues independently.
* Ability to work within a team, manage workload, and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
* Experience in recording and reporting progress.
* Enthusiastic and eager to learn new skills.
* Practical experience in Project Planning and Control principles.
* Knowledge of techniques such as Earned Value, Work Breakdown Structure, and Network Planning.
* Proficiency in SAP/Primavera or similar planning tools.
* Understanding of all project lifecycle phases, especially Planning and Execution.
* Effective collaboration with internal stakeholders, supported by data and analysis.
* Good business understanding to perform 'what if' scenarios.
* Ability to work independently within defined procedures.
Additional Preferences:
* Holding APMG Project Controls Foundation and Practitioner Level Certification or eligible for training.
