Actions Against the Police Solicitor
Location: Manchester
Experience Level: Minimum 4 years’ PQE (or equivalent experience)
Miller Grace Recruitment is delighted to be working with a highly regarded claimant law firm that is looking to expand its Actions Against the Police team. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate civil litigation solicitor who is seeking intellectually challenging work, genuine responsibility, and the chance to make a real impact.
The Role
This is a varied and engaging position where no two days are the same. The successful candidate will manage their own caseload while working on complex and often sensitive matters, supported by a collaborative and experienced team.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing a diverse caseload of civil actions from inception through to conclusion, including complex claims
* Liaising with clients, Counsel and defendants, providing a high level of support throughout proceedings
* Attending Inquests and Court hearings as required
* Supporting and mentoring junior team members
* Actively engaging in business development initiatives
* Travelling across England and Wales for hearings, with occasional overnight stays
About You
To be considered for this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
* A minimum of 4 years’ PQE handling civil litigation matters
* Proven ability to run cases autonomously from start to finish
* Strong drafting, analytical and case management skills
* A meticulous approach with the ability to scrutinise evidence and documentationh
Desirable Experience
* Experience working with Legal Aid matters
* Knowledge of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) and the Human Rights Act (advantageous but not essential)
