Contract Electronics Engineer
Location: Oxford (On-site )
Contract Type: 3 Month Contract
Pay: £50 per hour (Outside IR35)
About the Role
We are looking for a Contract Electronics Engineer to support the bring-up and validation of microcontroller-based mixed-signal PCBs. This role is focused on hands-on lab work, supporting early-stage hardware to enable functional testing and development.
What You’ll Do
• Carry out first-time power-up of microcontroller-based PCBs
• Verify voltage rails and power delivery to on-board devices
• Diagnose faults and perform board-level modifications to enable testing
• Connect and use debuggers to check microcontroller operation
• Write basic test programs in C and/or Python to validate board functionality
• Support debugging and bring-up activities alongside firmware and hardware teams
What We’re Looking For
• Strong hands-on experience with MCU-based PCB bring-up
• Confident with fault-finding and board-level rework
• Experience using debuggers on microcontrollers
• Ability to write test code in C and/or Python
• Experience with STM32 devices and toolchains is highly desirable
• Comfortable working independently in a lab environment
