Senior HR Consultant (Pay, Benefits & Pensions)
Location: Waverley Court
Salary: £46,023 – £54,476
Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks per year (Monday to Friday)
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior HR Consultant to play a key role within our Payroll, Benefits & Pension Team, managing end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant salary payments for all staff and all third‑party payments.
Responsibilities
* Lead a specialist team of Payroll, Benefits & Pension specialists to ensure delivery of payroll/benefit services to employees, managers and external customers.
* Support ongoing development of services, including the benefits platform, and provide training to colleagues to drive continuous improvement.
* Deliver regulatory compliance with statutory bodies through robust controls and measures, achieving high accuracy and customer satisfaction.
* Support wider HR projects and initiatives that align with the Council’s strategic objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong customer focus and a flexible approach, with the ability to work in a demanding, deadline‑driven environment.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
