About the Role
The successful candidate will work within our successful History Department. History is a very popular subject at Shevington High School, with almost 70% of Key Stage 4 students choosing to study it at GCSE. It is essential that the candidate is an experienced and effective History Teacher at KS3 and KS4, with a strong vision for leading the department, shaping its strategic direction, and empowering students to become critical thinkers. This is a brilliant opportunity to shape the future of the department through passion and enthusiasm for the past!

Department and School Environment
The History department is located in a suite of classrooms that facilitate collaboration. The successful candidate will lead the department, raising attainment through monitoring, evaluation, targeted interventions, and strategic development of teaching and learning. Responsibilities include planning and delivering high-quality schemes of work, deploying resources effectively, and supporting extracurricular activities that enrich student life.
Research and Professional Development
Our school is research-led, emphasizing evidence-based practices for success. All teachers are expected to engage with research and participate in CPD opportunities, with additional time allocated for development activities.
