We are seeking a full time Deputy Ward Manager to join our team
Sandford ward is an 14 bedded acute ward for older Adult men who have acute or severe or enduring mental illnesses, often with physical co-morbidities, which require monitoring and treatment which would otherwise not be able to be given in the community.
You will become part of a dynamic team for male patients requiring assessment, care and nursing interventions, within an environment that is fast paced, dynamic and high in engagement.
We have strengthened our nurse leadership, have clear and exciting nursing pathways with training and development to support aspirations alongside a range of pathways to choose and you will have access to training at Masters level.
You will have a structured induction and ongoing support from managers and senior clinicians. We understand everyone has different commitments outside of work, so can offer flexibility around working hours and patterns.
Support the ward manager in delivering the units objectives in terms of patient care, staff development and service development. You will be responsible for clinical leadership of the ward environment, working in a way that promotes the principles of recovery, to ensure individualised, safe and effective care provision for all patients.
In the absence of the ward manager you will also take the necessary managerial action to ensure compliance with organisational and stakeholder requirements.
Undertake personal development and participate in staff appraisal and clinical supervision. As a team leader you will need to articulate a clear vision of the standards expected within your team and actively contribute to a positive learning environment providing supervision and mentorship to qualified and unqualified staff, creating an environment in which excellence in care flourishes through effective leadership and staff management / development.
You will be auditing standards of care and dealing with and be confident in your human resource management approach
