Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our specialist ophthalmology team at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary, professional team to assess care needs, and develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care. Our staff are committed to providing high standards of individualised care for the people who use our services, whilst maintaining their privacy and dignity at all times.
Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine dealing with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases of the eye and visual system. Eye health services are becoming more and more important as the UK population ages. An ageing population means there are more incidences of age-related eye diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration, which can be treated effectively when caught early and managed with existing treatments and medicines.
The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic, multidisciplinary team working together to achieve the best outcome for our patients and will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others by providing care in their time of need.
