An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated science graduate to work as a member of the paediatric sleep physiology team at West London Children's Healthcare (WLCH), based primarily at Imperial College Healthcare Trust (ICHT).
About the Team
The Paediatric Sleep and Respiratory Physiology team is part of a wider multi‑disciplinary department consisting of clinical scientists, physiologists, clinical nurse specialists, respiratory physicians, and administrative staff. We provide sleep diagnostics for respiratory and non‑respiratory sleep disorders via cardiorespiratory, polysomnography, MSLT (Multiple Sleep Latency Test), and actigraphy sleep studies.
We are a rapidly expanding team that actively encourages career growth and continuing education. We are aligned with Imperial College London to conduct translational sleep and respiratory physiology research and encourage active engagement in research projects. In addition, there is opportunity to develop skills in lung function testing and to work with Imperial College London to produce translational research in the field as part of the wider research team.
Responsibilities
* Interact closely with medical, scientific, nursing, and other staff to provide a high‑quality Sleep Service dedicated to patient care.
* Competently perform high‑quality, accurate near‑patient diagnostic sleep studies, including those on invasive and non‑invasive ventilation.
* Under supervision of senior staff, analyse and report paediatric cardiorespiratory sleep studies, including those on invasive / non‑invasive ventilation.
* Assist with initiation of non‑invasive ventilation for patients, including mask fitting, patient/carer education, and device set‑up.
