Are you someone with skills in community-based conservation, biodiversity, developing skills in nature who is interested in supporting people, families and communities to conserve, restore and protect green and blue spaces?


Groundwork Wales is seeking a part time project officer (30 hours over 4 days per week, Monday to Thursday).


The role is fixed term until the end of February 2026.

Position: Part Time Project Officer



Working Hours: 30 hours to be worked over 4 days (Monday – Thursday)



Location: Pontllanfraith, Blackwood, with travel across the region and visits to community hubs.



Salary Range: £24,000 to £26,000 per annum pro rata



Contract Tenure: Fixed Term (until February 2026)



Closing Date: 12th September 2025 at Midday

Key Responsibilities:

* Support the development and delivery of community nature-based programmes

* Maintain effective relationships with partner organisations

* Identify and recruit groups, individuals, and partners to participate in programme activities

* Supervise participants to develop environmental conservation and interpersonal skills

* Deliver accredited courses and provide 1:1 mentoring sessions

* Record progress towards targets and assist with report preparation for funding bodies and marketing

* Assist with identifying and applying for additional funding opportunities

Requirements:

* A full current driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes

* Familiarity with community work practices and related legislation

* Commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults

* Adherence to GDPR regulations regarding personal information

* Commitment to ensuring the health and safety of all involved in Groundwork Wales' work
