About Aegis Energy:
At Aegis Energy, we are accelerating the decarbonisation of commercial transport in the UK. Our mission is to develop a network of over 50 clean energy hubs, supporting the needs of commercial fleets with low/zero-emission energies, including electric charging, HVO, bio-CNG, and Hydrogen. We focus on meeting the demands of the commercial vehicle sector.
Transport accounts for 27% of CO2 emissions in the UK. Commercial vehicles (CVs) produce 38% of this, with heavy and light goods vehicles (HGVs, LGVs) accounting for 20% and 18% respectively. Aegis will play a significant role in the UK’s energy transition by providing essential clean energy infrastructure at purpose-built, public hubs to CV fleets across the UK.
About the role:
We’re seeking a high-calibre, proactive recent graduate to join our team as a Commercial & Sales Analyst on Aegis Energy’s graduate programme. You will help us build relationships with client fleets and partners, support our sales pipeline and account management activities and contribute to marketing and commercial projects as we scale the business. This is a high-impact, high-energy role for a driven individual passionate about energy, infrastructure, and sustainability. You’ll play a foundational role in developing our sales, marketing and go-to-market functions, reporting to one of our Commercial Managers.
Working closely alongside our sales, marketing and commercial teams, you will gain hands-on experience in commercial analysis, B2B sales, customer engagement and go-to-market execution, while learning how a fast-growing clean energy business wins and serves customers. This role is designed to accelerate your career into scale-up growth operations, front-line sales, account management, or partnerships by working alongside colleagues with top-tier backgrounds at BlackRock, McKinsey, and Rothschild.
This role is ideal for someone who is AI-proficient, enjoys talking to people, is comfortable with a steep learning curve, and wants broad exposure across sales, marketing, and commercial operations at a fast-growing scale-up in the clean energy and transport sector.
Key responsibilities:
· A successful applicant will support our sales team with the preparation of high‑quality client materials, including pitch decks, proposals and commercial analysis (e.g. client segmentation, profiling; simple analysis calculations in Excel).
· Help manage the sales pipeline by keeping our CRM up to date, logging meetings and actions, and following up with internal stakeholders to keep deals moving.
· Assist with customer and driver engagement activities, such as on‑site driver surveys, customer feedback calls, as well as supporting at conferences, trade shows and other industry events.
· Work with the Commercial and Marketing teams to coordinate campaigns (email, LinkedIn, events), track basic performance metrics and suggest improvements.
· Conduct desktop research on potential customers, partners, competitors and industry trends, and summarise findings into concise briefs for the team.
· Support account management by helping prepare account reviews, performance summaries and simple reports for existing customers.
· Identify opportunities to improve business processes using digital tools, automation and AI-enabled solutions.
· Contribute to the development and implementation of data strategies and internal tools that enhance operational efficiency.
· Assist with cross‑functional commercial projects (for example, pricing updates, analysing potential new product/service pilots, or process improvements) as business needs evolve.
· As a member of a cohesive ‘one Aegis Energy team’, you will actively support and contribute to other aspects of Aegis Energy’s business as needed, including cross-functional projects that enhance your commercial skills.
Required Qualification & previous experience:
· An outstanding undergraduate degree from a leading UK or international university, having graduated within the last 36 months.
· Comfort speaking to customers and external stakeholders, including at in‑person events, site visits, through customer surveys, via phone and video calls.
· Strong structured thinking and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to turn information from different sources into clear, concise outputs (slides, short memos, simple spreadsheets).
· Organised and reliable, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with close attention to detail.
· Genuine interest in sales, relationship management or account management, even if you have not done this before.
· A demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and flexible approach to tasks.
· A genuine interest in the energy transition and sustainability of the commercial transport sector.
· Proficiency in the use of AI tools, and a keen interest in the practical application of cutting-edge technology.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Desirable:
· Evidence of taking initiative in extra‑curricular activities, part‑time work or projects (e.g. student societies, fundraising, hospitality/retail roles, entrepreneurship).
· Experience in any customer‑facing setting (e.g. hospitality, retail, call centre, campus ambassador, event organisation) or B2B environment is a plus.
