Full Time Position for a driven and pro‑active person with exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills. This role will drive the quality management system within SubSea craft while supporting the Production and Procurement Teams and will have exposure to all areas of the business.


Responsibilities

* Reporting into Operations and supporting all business departments.
* Overseeing and evolving the Integrated Business Management System and Quality Management Systems.
* Help departments align process to recognised standards and drive continual improvement to process throughout the business.
* Managing a team of quality engineers focusing in on production and supplier quality.
* Scheduling and running internal and external audits, to maintain our ISO9001:2015 accreditation.
* Experienced in embedding AQAP defence standards, including NATO quality assurance regulations and quality plans.
* Introduction of AS9100 standards into the business where appropriate.
* Drive the introduction of configuration management into business process to ISO standards.
* Develop, implement and monitor quality control processes and procedures for manufacturing operations.
* Analyse production non‑conformance to identify trends and areas for improvement.
* Train and support staff on quality control procedures.
* Have an in‑depth understanding of design and manufacturing documentation in order to monitor and ensure that the production processes are implemented correctly.
* Establish and maintain quality standards for supplier materials and components through a supplier quality manual.
* Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
* Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
* Develop and maintain supplier performance metrics and reporting systems.
* Collaborate with customer service and sales teams to address quality‑related customer concerns.
* Build and monitor quality issues logging process (Incident and observation reporting system).
* Report quality metrics and progress to senior leadership team monthly.
* Working with design engineering to establish suitable standards of quality for products in accordance with applicable legislation.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to pass information clearly and accurately.
* Meet set deadlines and understand when problems need to be referred upwards.
* Organise and present information clearly, concisely and accurately.
* Strong leadership, motivational and mediation skills, and the ability to take initiative without guidance.
* Exemplary internal and external customer service and strong interpersonal skills.
* Adaptable – maintain established process whilst initiating and driving change and efficiencies.
* Collaborative and proactive – ‘can‑do’ working style.


Qualifications and Experience

* Lead Auditor
* Degree in Quality Management, Engineering or related field.
* Minimum of 8 years of experience in quality management within the manufacturing and defence industry, preferably in marine manufacturing.
* Proven experience in embedding ISO, AQAP and AS standards.
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Proven leadership and team management abilities.
* Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills
* Excellent stakeholder management skills

Location: Portsmouth with some travel to Portland in support of craft operations and Test and Trials periods.

Note: Due to the nature of work undertaken at SubSea Craft, the selected candidate must be capable of meeting the security requirements of the position, which would include as a minimum existing right to live and work in the UK, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), with UK National security clearance required for certain roles.
