Job Description
The role of the Warehouse and Shipping Assistant will be part of an effective Warehouse and Logistics team with an objective to create a safe and efficient warehousing environment.
Key Responsibilities and Role Objectives
* Receive, inspect and accurately record incoming shipments and materials
* Packing in accordance with shipping instructions given and local regulations globally.
* Maintaining shipping department consumables and raising purchase requisitions to ensure all vital items are readily available.
* Maintain a shared team email inbox by responding quickly with accurate information.
* Conduct measurements of products using specialised equipment.
* Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet and pump trucks safely and efficiently.
* Picking and issuing internal material requisitions and transport tasks for internal demand.
* Ensuring storage of goods according to their storage conditions and EHS regulations.
* Maintain an accurate ERP system through the completion of transactions
* Conduct weekly cycle counts against agreed schedules.
* Assist international shipping activities, including arranging worldwide distribution of our temperature sensitive and dangerous goods products and facilitating daily collections with shipping partners.
* Maintain a safe, organised, and clean workspace.
* Oversee the cold storage areas and conduct defrosting cycles and temperature monitoring.
* Assisting in the production of the SOPs for the Warehouse department.
* Comply with all company, departmental, and regulatory policies and rules.
* Other administration and operations tasks as required from time to time to support the wider commercial team
Qualifications
Skills & Experience:
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring flawless execution of tasks
* Excellent organisational and time management skills, allowing you to prioritise and complete tasks efficiently
* Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal, facilitating effective collaboration
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, enabling you to manage documentation efficiently
* Experience with ERP systems and shipping platforms preferred, giving you a head start in our tech-savvy environment
* Familiarity with Dangerous Goods handling and IATA certification, ensuring compliance with industry standards
* Team-oriented with a collaborative approach, contributing to our inclusive and encouraging work culture
