Job Description
Working alongside the Camp Manager and leading a team of coaching staff, you’ll be responsible for delivering a high-quality, school holiday experience at Kings Camps. Your focus will be ensuring children aged 5 to 17 are safe, active, having fun, and learning together. The Assistant Manager oversees programme delivery, including activity sessions, warm-ups, and weekly events. While not assigned to a specific group of children, you may need to step in to lead activities, supervise lunchtimes, and model best practices to less experienced staff.
You will act as a responsible first aider, be available to communicate with parents, staff, or central office, and work alongside the Site Manager to ensure all procedures and policies are correctly followed.
Child safety is our top priority. You’ll supervise children during breaks, participate in swimming sessions, oversee equipment use, record incidents promptly, and implement behaviour management and health and safety standards.
Person Specification (Ideal, but with some flexibility)
* Availability for the full season (Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5.30 pm), with a minimum of 3 consecutive weeks during summer
* 12 months’ experience working with children and young people
* 3+ months' experience in a management or leadership role
* Childcare, sports, or teaching-related degree or qualification
* Knowledge of Child Protection, Safeguarding, and Health and Safety policies
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate
* Organised, able to follow policies and procedures
* Vibrant, resilient, and a team player
* Flexible and adaptable
* Paediatric First Aid certification (training opportunities available)
