Overview
Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has made the difficult decision to serve notice on its offender health contracts. Over the coming months, we will be working with NHS England on the transition of the services to a new provider. We still need to recruit to these valued positions and welcome your application. In line with our values, honesty is important, so please note that if you are successful that, in time, your employment would move from Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust to another provider who would then be your new employer.
Role and Location
You will join a highly motivated and skilled team providing integrated healthcare (physical health, mental health and substance misuse services) based at HMP Lincoln in Lincolnshire.
Responsibilities
 * Be part of a wider team of 8 neurodevelopmental disorder practitioners (one practitioner in each of our prisons), a Specialist clinician (OT) and Clinical Lead (Speech and Language Therapist) providing assessment, treatment and support to men with Autism, ADHD and Intellectual/Learning Disability in prison.
 * Assist in the identification and support of people with Neurodevelopmental Conditions, including Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Learning/Intellectual Disabilities, in your designated prison establishment.
 * Work within specialist multi-disciplinary services for Offender Health, based within your base prison mental health team to provide Mental Health assessment and treatment services for adult male prisoners, including those with Neurodevelopmental Conditions.
 * Advocate for people with neurodevelopmental conditions within the prison system and promote best practice as well as the safety and wellbeing of these patients.
 * Collaborate with other Neurodiversity practitioners working in other prisons to share knowledge and develop best practices across the prison system.
 * Be a member of the mental health team and may be required to work flexibly supporting assessment and care of individuals receiving those services; this will not be your primary duty.
 * Be supported by a Clinical Lead for Neurodiversity working across Offender Health and be part of a wider team of ND practitioners to develop best practice across the prison system.
