Wootton Wawen C of E Primary School is a welcoming and nurturing village school set in the heart of Warwickshire. Our small, close knit community enables us to know each child as an individual, supporting their academic, social and emotional development within a caring and inclusive environment. You will be responsible for: • Ensure the safety, wellbeing and safeguarding of all pupils at all times. • Plan, deliver and assess high-quality teaching to meet the needs of all learners, within a mixed-age class. • Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment. • Track, record and report on pupil progress, attainment and development. • Set clear expectations and manage behaviour using positive strategies. • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, parents and external agencies. • Contribute to the wider school community and uphold the school’s ethos and values. • Engage in professional development through the school’s professional growth projects. • Contributing to the school’s statutory duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. Your qualities will include: • A positive, solution-driven attitude coupled with a great sense of humour and fun! • High expectations for all pupils including behaviour, achievement and progress. • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with pupils, staff, parents and external agencies. • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum. • Ability to deliver inclusive, engaging teaching that meets the needs of all learners. • Reflective and proactive approach to professional development and teamwork • Displaying commitment to the protection and safeguarding of children and young people. As this role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check with a Barred List check. Our pre-employment process will also include Teacher Prohibition List checks, overseas checks (where applicable); proof of qualifications (as specified in the person specification); section 128 checks (for those in management roles); medical fitness checks; identity and right to work checks. Applicants for roles working with children under five years during the school day and under eight years for those working in wraparound care will also be subject to Childcare Disqualification checks.
