The Role
The role of Fabricator will involve taking sheets of copper and through a process of machine and manual processes fabricating them until incredible finished products as per drawings provided by engineering.
Your role will include:
1. Carrying out traditional smithing activities – this can be very physical work.
2. MIG and TIG welding
3. Use of Guillotines and Press Brakers
4. Operating Automatic hammers
5. Metal Folding
You will initially be paired with a senior member of the team who will guide you in the bespoke techniques required for the role.
You will get to work on projects where you are fabricating vessels with a huge range of exotic shapes and sizes which will allow you to broaden your fabrication skills.
The Candidate
To be successful in your application for this Fabricator role you will need:
6. Experience in fabricating
7. Strong competence with either MIG or TIG Welding
8. To take pride in your craft
9. To have a passion for a strong desire to develop into a coppersmith
10. Strong attention to detail
11. The ability to interpret engineering drawings
The Benefits
For this Fabricator role you will receive
12. An hourly rate from £16 – 20 dependent upon experience
13. Overtime paid at 1.5x for Saturdays and 2x for Sundays
