Overview
We are recruiting for a qualified Private Client / Wills and Probate Lawyer to join our busy Whitefield Office. The successful candidate will be taking over a very busy, successful and well managed caseload.
Responsibilities
* Probate: Dealing with administration of estates from start to finish; Preparation and application for Grant of Probate and Letters of Administration; Completion of and dealing with all tax forms (Inheritance Tax, Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax) and advising on the same; Attending to house clearances where appropriate; Collecting in and realising assets; Paying liabilities; Distributing the estate and preparing income and distribution accounts; Advising on Tax mitigation and Deeds of Variation.
* Wills: Taking instructions and advising as necessary; Assessing capacity of the Client where necessary; Providing advice on Inheritance Tax, Income Tax, and Capital Gains Tax and Tax Mitigation; Drafting, preparation and attesting of Wills; Applying for Statutory Wills where necessary.
* Trusts and Tax: Advising generally on Trusts; Providing advice on Inheritance Tax, Income Tax, and Capital Gains Tax and Tax Mitigation; Drafting Trust documents.
* Powers of Attorney / Lasting Powers of Attorney: Taking instructions and advising as necessary; Assessing capacity of the Client; Drafting Powers of Attorney; Preparing applications for registration of Enduring Powers of Attorney; Acting as Certificate Providers.
* Advising and looking after interests of elderly clients: Dealing with their affairs (with or without Power of Attorney); Advising on financial affairs, paying bills and managing investments; Advising on DSS benefits and making necessary applications; Knowledge of social care and CHC funding would be useful.
* Court of Protection: Making applications for Deputy appointment and other relevant orders; Complying with Court Orders; Producing accounts for the Court; Handling the Patient’s affairs.
* Business Development: Proven experience of business development.
About You
* 2 years PQE +
* Strong IT skills
* Experience in the full spectrum of private client work
* Ability to work in a paper-light environment
About The Role
* Hours – Full Time: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 17:15
* Position – Permanent
* 26 days holiday plus Bank Holidays
* Salary dependent on experience
* Monthly holiday bonus scheme (extra days’ holiday for each monthly income target achieved)
