New Directions Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to support one of our partner secondary schools in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who loves bringing literature, language, and creative thinking to life in the classroom.
About the Role
As the school’s English Teacher, you will deliver dynamic, engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with KS5 available depending on experience). You’ll help students develop essential skills in reading, writing, speaking, and analysis—encouraging confidence, creativity, and a genuine enjoyment of English.

Key Responsibilities
4. Teach English Language and Literature at KS3–KS4 following the school’s curriculum
5. Deliver inspiring lessons that promote curiosity, critical thinking, and strong literacy skills
6. Support pupils of all abilities to achieve their academic potential
7. Maintain a positive, purposeful classroom environment
8. Contribute to the wider ethos, values, and enrichment of the school
What We’re Looking For
9. QTS or QTLS (English specialism preferred)
10. Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for English
11. Strong communication and classroom management skills
12. A creative and adaptable approach to planning and delivery
13. Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
