In this role, you’ll take the lead in crafting and executing smart, high-impact marketing campaigns that drive delegate ticket sales and attract valuable commercial sponsorships. Here’s how you’ll make a difference:

* Create high impact campaigns : Build and deploy strong marketing strategies for some of SAE’s largest events, which result in lead and revenue generation.
* Own channel strategy : Explore and identify the best routes to market — from traditional email campaigns to innovative digital platforms and social media.
* Expand your reach : Source and qualify relevant contacts per campaign to keep your audience fresh and competitive.
* Drive smart campaigns with data : Make sharp, targeted selections from internal data for every stage of your campaign, using insights to maximise engagement and ROI.
* Be data-driven : Set up and monitor unique campaign tracking links to assess channel performance and web activity.
* Craft persuasive messaging : Write high-performing copy for every touchpoint in the campaign.
* Boost visibility through PR : Write and distribute compelling press releases and invite key press contacts to events to generate buzz and enhance brand visibility.
* Create powerful partnerships : Build strong contra and media partnerships with trade associations, publications, and digital platforms — increasing exposure and delivering added value.
* Maximise sponsor impact : Work closely with sponsors to promote their presence and boost their ROI — strengthening long-term relationships.
* Stay one step ahead - Keep tabs on competitor activity to inform smarter strategies and sharper messaging. You’ll be empowered to spot opportunities, challenge norms, and help stay ahead of the curve.
* Optimise performance in real-time : Review weekly marketing response metrics and adjust tactics for maximum impact.
* Be part of the big picture : Attend team and sector meetings to stay aligned with commercial and content goals, ensuring every campaign supports business success.
* Support seamless teamwork : Work closely with and provide timely handovers to telesales team to ensure lead generation and the full data universe is fully leveraged.
* Grow from every campaign : Conduct detailed post-campaign analysis and compile clear reports — helping to learn and develop each event.
* Mentor and inspire : Support team members by sharing your knowledge, offering guidance, and modelling best practices.


In addition to running high-impact campaigns, you’ll also play a vital role in building and strengthening internal and external relationships and collaboration including:


* Collaborate across the business
* Maintain clear and consistent communication with your sector team and other departments, ensuring everyone is aligned and working toward shared goals.
* Build industry influence
* Establish and nurture long-term relationships with key industry partners. This not only increases your network and visibility in the sector but also positions you as a trusted marketing professional in the field.

* Share wins and knowledge with your peers in the marketing team. You’ll benefit from this culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

* Attend conferences to conduct live market research, deepen your understanding of the delegate and sponsor experience, and bring valuable insights back to inform your campaigns. It’s also a great way to see the tangible impact of your work in action.

What success looks like

* Devise and run several marketing campaigns per month keeping to deadlines set
* Increase average number of delegates in your sector by a minimum of 5% year on year
* Produce effective marketing plans within budget
* Negotiating rate card costs to obtain best possible prices for external activity
* Achieve event targets
* Lead multiple campaigns with confidence
* Strategise and run several dynamic marketing campaigns at any given time — all delivered on time and with clear purpose.
* Drive audience growth year on year
* Grow the average number of delegates at your events by at least 5% annually. You’ll be able to see the direct result of your strategy, creativity, and audience insight — and celebrate tangible growth.
* Deliver strategic, on budget plans
* Create clear, effective, on budget marketing plans that achieve results. Develop strong commercial instincts and smart thinking.
* Negotiate like a pro
* Secure the best possible rates for external activity by negotiating with suppliers and partners. This helps maximise campaign value — and demonstrates your ability to get exceptional results with smart spending.
* Achieve and surpass your event goals

Essential skills, traits and qualifications

* Significant experience in a conference/event marketing position.
* Commercially savvy with an eye for growth with innovative recommendations.
* Creative, flexible and agile with the ability to reset priorities in a rapidly changing environment.
* Excellent written and oral communications.
* Showcase strong project management, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
* Deadline-driven and can manage time effectively and independently.
* Team player who is comfortable working with and gaining commitment from personnel across different functional groups.
* Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Marketing, Communications or Advertising is an asset, although not imperative.
