Job Title: External Sales Manager / Business Development Manager
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation within the electronics manufacturing sector for a commercially astute and proactive External Sales Manager. This pivotal role is responsible for driving business growth, developing strategic customer relationships, and expanding sales opportunities across high-reliability markets.
This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated and experienced sales professional with a background in PCB or component manufacturing, looking to take full ownership of a key sales function within a forward-thinking and innovative business.
Key Responsibilities for the External Sales Manager:
* Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow the customer base and explore new market opportunities.
* Build and manage strong, long-term client relationships in sectors such as Medical, Aerospace, Defence, Industrial, and Automotive.
* Serve as the primary representative for clients, understanding their technical requirements and proposing tailored PCB/component solutions.
* Lead pricing discussions, contract negotiations, and detailed proposal development.
* Attend trade shows, networking events, and client meetings across the UK.
* Maintain accurate activity records using CRM tools and report on pipeline, performance, and market insights.
* Drive proactive lead generation and business development initiatives to meet or exceed revenue targets.
Essential experience as an External Sales Manager:
* Proven experience in sales, business development, or account management within manufacturing.
* Solid understanding of PCB manufacturing processes and electronic component applications.
* Strong commercial acumen with a track record of closing sales and achieving targets.
* Excellent relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills.
* Ability to interpret and communicate technical requirements between clients and internal teams.
* Proficiency with CRM systems and sales tools.
Desirable experience as an External Sales Manager:
* Experience managing multiple client accounts and/or small-scale project delivery.
* Prior experience in a PCB manufacturing environment in either a sales or technical capacity.
