Aqua-Tech Recruitment are currently seeking a Mechanical Fitter/Technician to join our team on a water treatment site in Copford. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment essential to water treatment processes.
This role requires a strong focus on health & safety and adherence to site regulations. The ideal candidates must hold a valid CSCS card.
Key Responsibilities:
* Installation, maintenance, and repair of pumps, valves, pipework, and other mechanical systems used in water treatment operations.
* Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
* Working to tight deadlines to ensure project milestones are achieved.
* Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance as well as reactive repairs.
* Conducting mechanical fault finding and problem resolution.
* Ensuring work is performed safely and in compliance with all relevant health & safety regulations.
* Working in confined spaces as required.
* Completing required documentation and reporting for works undertaken.
* Liaising with engineers, site supervisors, and other trades as needed.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, ideally within the water or utilities sector.
* Valid CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
* Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including pumps, valves, actuators, and pipework.
* Ability to read and interpret technical and engineering drawings.
* Excellent health & safety awareness.
* Good communication and teamwork skills
