Due to retirement, Ellison View Surgery, currently a CQC rated outstanding practice, is looking for a Practice/Business Manager to lead our friendly clinical and administration team.

About us
We are a team of 3 Partners, 1 salaried GP, 2 Practice Nurses, and an HCA. We have an experienced senior administration team and reception/care navigators. The practice population is 6,000 patients, and we belong to an 8-practice primary care network. Our staff enjoy good terms & conditions, and there is free parking on-site.
Job responsibilities
The core responsibilities of this role include overseeing daily operations, managing staff, financial management, policy development, and ensuring compliance with legislation. The manager may also act as a deputy for partners, liaise with external agencies, and support quality improvement initiatives. Additional tasks may be assigned depending on workload and staffing levels.
The Practice/Business Manager is responsible for:
1. Overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring staff achieve their responsibilities
2. Managing clinical and administrative staff
3. Direct line management of specific staff members (e.g., Operations Manager, Reception Manager, Senior Administrators, Receptionists, Practice HCA/Sister/Nurse, GPs)
4. Managing recruitment, retention, and succession planning
5. Liaising with Primary Care Network and ARRS staff
6. Ensuring staff induction, training, appraisals, and HR compliance
7. Managing financial aspects, including budgets, accounts, petty cash, and liaising with accountants
8. Developing and implementing business resilience plans
9. Managing contracts, procurement, and policy updates
10. Leading change initiatives and practice development
11. Coordinating reports, practice development plan, and QOF targets
12. Developing communication strategies and promoting online patient services
13. Maintaining websites and external communications
14. Liaising with external stakeholders and representing the practice at meetings
15. Managing complaints, premises, health and safety, IT systems, and security
Additional duties may include deputising for partners and acting as a primary contact for external agencies.

Qualifications
Relevant NHS/Primary Care experience and qualifications are preferred.
