The Role
We seek a highly motivated Staff Grade Doctor to support our NHS glaucoma service, providing clinical and surgical assistance. The role involves diagnosing, managing, and treating glaucoma and other ocular conditions, collaborating with healthcare professionals, and supporting service development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Diagnose, evaluate, and manage patients with glaucoma and ocular conditions
* Perform diagnostic tests such as visual fields, OCT, Volk, CCT, and gonioscopy
* Develop management plans for glaucoma referrals
* Provide pre- and post-operative patient care
* Collaborate with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and other team members
* Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance
* Educate patients and families about glaucoma management
What You’ll Need
* Medical degree from a recognized university
* GMC registration with UK license
* Experience in ophthalmology, especially glaucoma management, with ability to work independently
* NHS glaucoma clinic experience
* Gonioscopy and SLT laser experience
* Excellent diagnostic and communication skills
* Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team
