Delivery Manager - Home BasedJob DescriptionEDF Energy is a key customer within the Costain Defence & Nuclear Energy sector with a Project Controls Resource (PCR) framework contract. Under the contract Costain will provide project controls resources to support operations at each of EDF Energy\\\'s operational nuclear power stations, and at its head office in Gloucester. Although contractually a resource provision framework, Costain are increasingly taking responsibility for the service that is delivered by the team.This contract has grown from initial dozen people to its current complement of 160 and is expected to continue to grow. The strategic objectives for Costain are to: Optimise operational performance Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction Sustainable growth of the framework to meet EDF\\\'s ongoing needs Position for successful continuation / re-bid / expansion of the framework Leverage the breadth of Costain\\\'s capabilities to help EDF Energy optimise its delivery performance An opportunity has now arisen for a dynamic Delivery Manager to lead the southern region of the EDF PCR framework for Costain. The successful candidate will have a passion for delivering outstanding customer service, as well as actively identifying and embracing opportunities to continually improve performance. The individual will be an inspirational leader, possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, and will be adept at embracing diversity to create highly effective one-team environments working with key partners and stakeholders.This is an outstanding opportunity for an individual with the drive and passion to shape the future direction and success of the PCR framework, and support the development of the overall relationship between Costain and EDF Energy.The PCR framework involves the management and provision of cost engineers, planners, estimators, QS and other project management / engineering personnel. These individuals are seconded to EDF Energy, operating under EDF direct management and control. The Delivery Manager will therefore need to blend leadership, customer service, technical and business expertise on a daily basis to succeed in this role.The role is home-based, with frequent visits to the EDF Head office at Gloucester Business Park as well as travel to operational reactor sites around the country on a regular basis.ResponsibilitiesMain responsibilities within assigned region: Client First point of contact for the Client Project Portfolio Managers Responsibility for service delivery in alignment with client key objectives Presents proposals to the Client for improvements to the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of operations Provides and underpins daily customer focus Commercial Understands commercial drivers, supporting delivery in line with Costain business plans Responsibility for contract profitability Able to drive efficiency and continual productivity improvements Proactively manage risk and opportunities Business Performance/Improvements Understands and champions optimised framework delivery in line with the principles of the Costain Operational Excellence Matrix (OEM) Develop and maintain partnerships with client, partners and suppliers as appropriate Supports meeting the performance requirements of the Contract and driving Continuous Improvement Leads on improvement initiatives across the framework Maintains oversight of one or more of the following: Project Controls Apprenticeship Programme, Promotions Pipeline, Capability Development Leadership Ability to lead multi discipline teams across multiple locations focused on delivering high levels of customer satisfaction whist ensuring effective management of the people and contract performance Establishes clear lines of communications throughout the team, defining roles and responsibilities in order to ensure the efficient use of resources Champions Safety, Health and Environment and ensures that standards are set, maintained and continually challenged for improvement Supports EDF account management, working with the Framework Manager and the rest of the Costain to leverage the broader Costain capability to support EDF.
